About

The Charleston Wiffle League is an extension of the Huntington Wiffle League (the subject of the video above). The Huntington Wiffle League was founded in 2012 with only a dozen players and more than doubled in size in 2013. League Commissioner, Josh Smith, has hopes of wiffleball gaining popularity in the tri-county area and since it has been successful in Huntington there is no reason it cannot be in the capitol city as well. The Charleston Wiffle League, like the Huntington Wiffle League, is an adult coed recreational wiffleball league. All players must be at least 18 years old and women (not just men) are also encouraged to participate.

The league did not get off to an early enough start this year to have a full regular season. So instead the league will be having 5 weeks of Fall Ball on Monday nights beginning August 26th through September 23rd. Games will be played at Little Creek Park in South Charleston, WV beginning around 5:30 pm. It is FREE to play in the Fall Ball league as long as players fill out a sign-up sheet and medical waiver form prior to play. New players are encouraged to start their own 3-5 player team but if you cannot do that simply sign up individually and you can be placed on an existing team. Jerseys/Uniforms are not required for Fall Ball.

When the regular season begins in 2014 players will have to pay a $30 registration fee to help cover the costs of new equipment.
